That Big Greasy Burger

I know this burger joint has been in countless blogs and yes, this blog's one of them. "Zark's Burgers" if you haven't heard of this place yet, well you've got to try it!

*~* The Pictures were taken at Zark's Katipunan *~*

What I like about Zark's menu  is that they put the description and whatever is inside the burger below the name it self. Very convenient if you ask me. The prices are very reasonable, comparing to other burger joints like burger project. The ones in the Minor League (see picture below) DON'T have fries and drinks included, but those burgers in the Major league do.

Menu

I Ordered The American All Star since I'm a cheese burger kind of girl and it has bacon! For God's sake BACON!!! Basically this burger's my personal favorite. It's simple and has everything I like in a burger- cheese and bacon. Probably the only thing I don't like about this burger is the lettuce and tomatoes under that fat juicy patty. But overall, I love it!

American All Star
I would have ordered this burger since it had 3 kinds of cheeses but meh- it had caramelized onions. Yes I don't really like onions, even when caramelized. My friends say that Zark's caramelized onions are really good. So why not try this burger out if you like caramelized onions and LOTS of cheese.

Three Pointer
This burger is probably one of the bigger/taller burgers here in Zark's. This, my friends/readers, is the Jawbreaker. It costs 250 pesos It's a triple cheese burger with bacon, cheese sauce, and spam with fries and bottomless iced tea included. That bottomless iced tea is a great deal since you'd need lots of liquid to bring this baby down. If you think about it, this burger's really 200 pesos since it costs 30 pesos for the fries and drink and an additional 20 pesos to make your iced tea, bottom less (to make things clear, the price is 250 pesos).

If you think 250 pesos is expensive for a burger then I have good news for you! If you finish the Jawbreaker in 5 minutes or less, then you'd get it for FREE. Besides the fact that you'd burn your tongue out and probably choke to death; a free Jawbreaker is a good deal! Everything tastes better when it's free =) Not only will you not have to pay for the Jawbreaker you just ate but you'll also get your picture taken and placed in the Hall of Fame for everyone to recognize that you're that dude who risked his/her life to get a free burger and succeeded. Isn't that nice, a free burger and you're face will forever be in the hall of fame!

Downside? Like what I mentioned before, the one about burning your tongue out and the probability of choking to death; there is no downside in trying this challenge out. Oh wait did I forget to mention that if you take the jawbreaker challenge, your iced tea isn't bottomless. Yeah... you're gonna choke to death with out that bottomless iced tea. Losing the challenge... well, you just have to pay for your burger then.

Another Challenge is the TOMBSTONE CHALLENGE. This is Zark's ultimate challenge. The tombstone is a 2 pound cheese burger. It's deadly because the chances of you choking to death while doing this challenge is way higher than that of the Jawbreaker. It's 500 pesos which is twice the cost of the Jawbreaker. Finish this burger with the fries in 10 minutes and you get your Tombstone for free, get your picture taken and placed in the hall of fame and a FREE T-SHIRT which says "I Survived the Tombstone Challenge"! The hall of fame in Katipunan is nothing compared with the one in Taft. So if you're planning to do any of these challenges do it in Katipunan if you want people easily to see your picture (just a suggestion).

Zark's Taft usually have really long lines so I suggest going there early. The place is quite small to accommodate all their customers. Zark's Katipunan is smaller but doesn't have really long lines compared to the one in Taft. Based on my experiences, whenever I eat at Zark's Taft, there is ALWAYS a long line. Never have I gone there without a line. Meanwhile in Katipunan... I've been here twice and I have yet to experience lining up to eat.

So far I've been in 2 branches:
Taft, La Salle:  2nd flr. of Archer’s Nook bldg., Taft Avenue, Manila. It's the same building as yellow cab and army navy.

Katipunan: In front of Ateneo, near pizza hut. (sorry I don't really know the address) it's on the 2nd floor; the same building as Rufos

I haven't been to these branches but I googled the details
Eastwood: G/F Eastwood City Walk 2, E. Rodriguez Jr. Ave. (C5), Eastwood City, Quezon City, Metro Manila. This branch just recently opened.

BF homes: President ave, front of shawarma snack center

Store hours:

Mon - Thu: 9:00 am - 10:00 pm
Fri - Sun9:00 am - 11:00 pm

FOOD HACKS

Here's the second part of life hacks but this part will focus on FOOD!!!!! Oh yeah!

Food was, is and will be part of our life and eating will be our forever hobby.
I made a mantra that may be helpful to you (in case) (^_^)
"Hungry? Eat. Bored? Eat.? Stressed out? Eat. Happy? Eat. Depressed? Eat. Angry? Eat. Cannot solve a math problem? Eat. You want a thing so badly but you can't have one? Eat." Hahahaha! That was lame :) Blabla...

Okay, enough with with these introductions. I will share to you guys the food hacks I've research. This part was harder than the hacks that I've posted here because it really makes me hungry!

Perfect for summer!

Bacon pancakes, makin' bacon pancakes,
Take some bacon and I'll put it in a pancake,
Bacon pancakes, that's what it's gonna make,
Bacon pancaaaaaaaake!

Another cool breakfast treat! Cut those boring egg and ham sandwich and replace it with this! Hohoho!

Our moms were doing it wrong :(
I'm totally gonna show this picture to my mom XD

If I have a little sister or brother who is in pre-school, I'll make her/him this banana sushi ;)

Well hello Starbucks fans!
I also suggest a Green Tea Frappe. Just ask the barista to change the syrup to hazelnut. The taste is awesome!

Oh look! You can make a frappe at home <3

I'll recommend this one to you guys!
It's legen-- wait for it-- dary

(HIMYM feels and it's all because of Rennie -__- )

I'll add banana to the group. My friend, Sherylyn, said it'll cure hangover.

After I saw this, I remembered Jamba Juice lol :)

THIS IS 100% ACCURATE

I love food. Food can relieve our stress but it can give us sickness if we don't eat them properly. Have a balanced diet to maintain a healthy life :) If you're on a diet, don't stress yourself in avoiding calories and carbs. Have a cheat day once a week! I hope you enjoyed my two part life hacks!

Again, I give credits to the owners of the picture!

LIFE HACKS

We people are smart in nature but there are GENIUS people out there who discovered efficient ways to solve troublesome situations or just to make our lives easier to live. I've researched some household, gadget, cooking hacks or simply, life hacks that would benefit and save us teenagers from our everyday problem and annoying situations. There also tips and tricks that will make our fun life more exciting! Don't worry, I chose hacks that do not require much effort because some hacks require too much work. This post is dedicated to all teenagers who struggle to to survive everyday *Does the District 12 gesture* There are two parts of life hacks that I'll be posting. Here's the second part. :) ENJOY!!!

We all have lazy days (as for me, everyday is a lazy day hahaha!). Microwave cooking is the best solution for those who are too lazy to cook. Left overs from the fridge, microwave then boom you have a food to eat! But sometimes it's kinda annoying that some food (especially bread based food) gets chewy, hard or worse, inedible after putting in the microwave or in some instances, the food is not yet hot

I love cooking (yes I can cook food) but cutting/chopping onions is one of the things I hate. The juice of the onion goes into my eyes and it really hurts. I thank the person who had this idea!

Having a problem separating egg yolks from egg whites?

If you don't like when your mom ask you to list down the things that she needs to buy in the grocery, get your mom's phone and take a picture of your fridge or even your storage! Hahahaha!

Bless the person who invented this chip bag fold! Trust me, it's not as easy as it seems. This will require A LOT of practice.

I bet we are all annoyed every time we untie a plastic bag.

THIS IS IMPORTANT PEOPLE :D

This DIY speaker will save us money from buying expensive speakers. But another alternative speaker would be a bowl or a glass.

For all Apple users out there! This is a pretty good idea!!! This will also save us from buying cords.

Ninja Fold!!!!! This is one of my favorite since I don't know how to fold neatly ;)

Important reminder :))

I don't know if it works to all people but still I included this one. It might be helpful to you guys.

For those who are a bit befuddled for the name of this method of studying, Pomodoro kitchen timer is a tomato shaped timer used in cooking or baking so the "Pomodoro Method" is named after the kitchen timer. Btw, Pomodoro is the Italian word for tomato :)

This would be helpful to the guys or to those students who have a necktie on their uniforms :))

So this is the first part of the "hacks" that I've researched. I only gathered some, but there a lot of hacks you can find. I hope you learned a lot from my post.

Credits to the owners!

Our first ever group blog!

Well basically there are three people who are going to run this blog; Sherylyn, KC, and me (Rennie).

Things we're planning to post in this blog:

  • Some short stories, poetry, and other literary pieces made by Sherylyn
  • Reviews of products we've used before
  • Our food trip madness (hey we're 18 yr old girls, food will always be a part of everything we do)
  • Places we've been to
  • Some random things we could think of

We never really planned to make a blog but then KC suggested we make one after I told her that my super long post got 2K+ notes in tumblr. We got excited with that idea and... BOOM! Here's the blog we got so excited about. Have fun reading our future posts and we hope you like them =)
